Terms of Service

Note: This is template content and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Please have this reviewed by a qualified legal professional before relying on it.

These terms govern your use of Chapternity, operated by Chapternity Ltd ("Chapternity", "we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for the activity that takes place under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 18 years old to create an account.

How the service works

Chapternity helps you turn a guided conversation into a written story, and to order that story as a printed book, a digital edition, or an audiobook. Parts of the service use artificial intelligence to help write your story and to produce audiobooks. You are responsible for reviewing your story before placing an order.

Your content and ownership

You own the content you create: your conversation, your story, your photographs and any recordings you provide. You grant us a limited licence to store and process this content only as needed to provide the service and fulfil your orders, including sharing the minimum necessary with our service providers. We do not claim ownership of your story and we will not publish or share it without your permission.

Voice recordings and cloning

If you use the cloned-voice audiobook feature, you confirm that you have the right to use the recording you provide and the consent of the person whose voice it is. Recordings are used only to create the audiobook you request, and a cloned voice can be removed on request.

Orders, pricing and payment

The price of your order is shown to you before you pay, based on your chosen format and page count, plus any audiobook option and any applicable international delivery. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Printed books are produced to order by our print partner.

Delivery

UK delivery is included in the price of printed books. International delivery is available, with any cost shown before you pay. Delivery times are estimates and may vary.

Refunds and cancellations

Because printed books and audiobooks are personalised and produced to order, they are made specifically for you. If there is a problem with your order, contact us and we will do our best to put it right. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Chapternity to create or upload content that is unlawful, infringes the rights of others, or that you do not have permission to use. We may suspend or remove content or accounts that breach these terms.

Limitation of liability

The service is provided as described, and we work hard to make it reliable. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under law, including your statutory consumer rights.

Changes to the service or these terms

We may update the service and these terms from time to time. When we change these terms we will revise the date at the top of this page.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
