When people hear that a book about their life will be written with the help of AI, they are right to pause. We have all seen AI invent facts, and a memoir is the last place you want invention. If you cannot trust the book to be true, it is not worth keeping.
The book is written from your words
Chapternity does not generate a plausible-sounding life. It writes from the specific things you tell Sage in your conversation. Its job is to take your real memories, the names, dates, places and moments you actually shared, and shape them into well-written chapters. The craft is in the telling. The facts come from you.
What we do to keep it accurate
- Grounded in your answers. The writing is built only from what you told Sage, which is instructed not to invent events, dates or people you did not mention.
- A consistency pass over the whole book. Once your chapters are written, we read the entire story back through as a whole, checking that names, dates, ages and the sequence of events line up from the first page to the last, and correcting them where they do not.
- One authoritative timeline. We build a single timeline of your life from your answers and hold every chapter to it, so the same year or age cannot appear two different ways in two different chapters.
- You read every word before you pay. Nothing is hidden. If anything is wrong you tell Sage and it is corrected, and nothing is printed until you are happy.
Where a human stays in charge
The most important safeguard is you. No book is printed that you have not read and approved. If a detail is off, or a memory came out wrong, you can adjust it with Sage until the book is true.
We think that is the right division of labour. Writing a whole life beautifully is slow, hard work, and it is what stops most families ever doing it. Remembering your own life accurately is something only you can do. Chapternity handles the first and leaves the second firmly with you.
